Worship is each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The atmosphere in worship is relaxed, so you don’t need to worry about "making a mistake."
Come as you are - there is no dress code. You will see people wearing business suits, jeans or shorts, and everything in between.
Children of all ages are welcome at worship services.
Usually there is someone greeting people at the street level doors. He/she will be happy to answer all of your questions.
You may sit anywhere you feel comfortable.
The order of the worship service is printed in the worship folder. There will also be a page of announcements about church activities and the weekly calendar.
While the pastor (and possibly other worship leaders) will instruct all worship participants to stand or sit at different times during the service, you will not be asked to stand up or identify yourself as a guest. We will ask you and all other participants to fill out the friendship register during the worship service, but you are not required to do so.
Calvary's members and regular participants are primarily responsible for financially supporting Calvary’s ministry, so guests should never feel obligated to give money during the offering. If you choose to give an offering, you may use one of the offering envelopes on the back of a seat in front of you.
Sunday worship services almost always include the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion). Because those who eat and drink our Lord's body and blood unworthily do so to their great harm, and because Holy Communion is a confession of faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, who are in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of Calvary Lutheran Chapel and the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS), and yet desire to receive the sacrament, are asked first to speak with the pastor (For further study: Matthew 5:23ff, 10:32ff, 18:15-35, 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34). Calvary has several non-LCMS guests almost every week, so it will not be odd for you to remain in your seat during the Lord's Supper.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask anyone you see, or you may contact the chapel office before you visit.
