 Bible Studies

Pastor Led Bible Study

On Sunday morning at 9:30, we will be studying biblical conflict resolution.  "Blessed are the Peacemakers" is the title of our Bible study.  It includes video clips, Bible study, personal reflection, and group discussion.  I'm sure that we eill all benefit from this series!  Please plan to join us.

Conflict is a part of our life.  Whether it is conflict with parents, roommates, friends, or classmates, we all find ourselves in conflict situations almost every day of our life.  Why do we have conflict?  What does the Bible say about conflict?  And how can the way we deal with other people in conflict situations affect not only them, but others in our world?

During the season of Lent, we will be exploring some different examples of conflict in the Bible and how we can be peacemakers in the situations we experience.  Our Lenten midweek series, "Conflict on the Way to Calvary" will focus our attention on different stories of conflict in the Bible.  We will have opportunity for discussion, growth, and forgiveness to be shared.  We'll also reflect on the one who has resolved our biggest conflict and given us ways to follow him.  Evening worship will be at 9pm on Ash Wednesday, February 6th and the following Tuesdays during Lent at 8 pm.

Small Group Bible Study/Life Groups
Are you interested in small group Christian fellowship?  Life groups meet regularly to have fun, pray, bible study, worship, and reach out to others.  These life groups are open to anyone who wishes to attend. This is a great way to grow in your faith, learn more about the Bible and get to know the people in the life group a little better.

Life Groups - This spring semester we have 2 lifegroups.  They are meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the fellowship hall.

Contact the lifegroup coordinator for more information.

 International Friendship Center

Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Friday 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

The International Friendship Center (IFC) is an outreach of Calvary Lutheran Chapel and has been intentionally reaching out to internationals on the UW campus since the early 1980's. From its beginning of Bible studies and shared meals, the ministry has grown into a formal gathering place known as the International Friendship Center. The IFC has become a kind of "home away from home" for many internationals studying and living in Madison. As our name implies, the ministry of the International Friendship Center is very much a ministry of friendship.

If you are an international student or family member, stop by anytime for conversational English discussion groups, Bible studies, and classes. If you'd like to volunteer at the IFC, stop by and talk with Judy Henke.
